They will not support the weight of the water. The best bet would be to build a platform under the entire bed with solid supports under the support points of the existing frame and supports.

My opinion would be no on buying a used mattress. Why would someone sell their mattress?? Maybe someone died on it who knows. “I would do my best to detoxify it” hell I would burn it if it’s that bad.

I am looking into the Tempur-Pedic mattresses and am wondering if anyone can give me some real feedback about them. If you have bought one, what do you think of it? Does it really help you manage back pain/aches? Do you really feel that you sleep better on it?

I hate my current mattress and really want to have one that is of good quality and will help improve the quality of my sleep. Before I buy one, I just was curious as to what others think of their Tempur-Pedic.

I once had a very similar memory foam mattress (but a different brand) and it worked very well for several years while it was new, but eventually, the foam developed depressions where i slept and it became similar to sleeping in a shallow, curved bowl, which is really bad for backs. I am guessing that Tempur-Pedic is probably a little higher quality than what I had, so it might last longer before it smashes down. I even rotated the mattress every other week.

The main complaint i had about a memory foam mattress is the smell. The mattress I had had a funny chemical smell that never went away – it even made my whole room smell sometimes. If you notice a chemical odor, recognize that it probably won’t ever go away.
