    The actual square footage of these mattresses is going to be the same. The difference is the length and width. A traditional king mattress is going to be 76″ x 80″. A california king is going to be 72″ x 84″ (4″ longer and 4″ more narrow).

    A standard (Eastern) King size bed is 76″ wide and 80″ long; while a California King size bed is 72″ wide and 84″ long.
